I learned to play, and gained much of my musical experience in The Salvation Army, later studying at Birmingham Conservatoire under Denis Masters and Stephen Daw. I have had an interest in arranging and composing from an early age, and The Salvation Army have published a number of my works. I have also written for educational groups at all levels.
In 1997 I joined The Staffordshire Band and became their Arranger in Residence in 1999. Having the opportunity to write for a band of this calibre was a stimulating experience, and and as an added bonus, they and their audiences seemed to like most of my attempts! My work as M.D. of Amington has also added a number of titles to the list.
