Léon Boëllmann

Léon Boëllmann (Born; Ensisheim, 25 Sept 1862; Died; Paris, 11 Oct 1897). This French organist and composer studied at the Ecole de Musique Classique et Religieuse, Paris, and was organist of St Vincent-de-Paul; he also taught improvisation and contributed to L'art musical. His output is typified by the modal and liturgical organ works in Douze pièces op.16 (Circa;1890), but his best-known piece is the Suite Gothique (1895) The Toccata is the final movement of the suite, and makes a brilliant showcase for your band!
